Capitalism causes greed and the love of money = artificial food, all kinds of excess radiation, drugs that don’t heal, etc. On the otherhand we support these genetic mutations to continue, when they are not helpful at all to us.

I would suggest that you read Jared Diamond’s book “Guns Germs And Steel”. It gives a good viewpoint on how disease has evolved and changed throughout the centuries.
The denser the population, the more likely for infectious disease to occur and spread.
Diseases have been around since the beginning of time- granted, we have created “superbugs” by overuse of antibiotics, but they are just replacing other diseases that we have cured or created vaccines for, such as polio and smallpox. I don’t believe the course of disease has changed- we have as many as we used to, but the medications we have to treat them have become more advanced. There is always a win/lose scenario when it comes to drugs and side effects, but if the quality of life outweighs the risk, then it should be up to the patient. Yes, it is unethical for drug companies to advertise their medications on TV- I believe there are more hypochondriacs than actual patients- going in to your doctor and asking for a specific medication is not the way it should be done, and capitalism has helped to secure this method. But good, ethical doctors will only treat a disease that is apparent- not one that a patient “thinks” he has.
