Question by Rachel: What can I substitute for almond flour?
My boyfriend has a serious tree nut allergy and I wanted to make him a recipe out of the Bouchon Bakery cook book and they like to use almond flour in their recipes. I was wondering if anyone knew of a substitute for almond flour?
Also I have Celiac’s disease so I don’t use wheat products.

Try rice flour and see how you like it. It can absorb more liquid than almond flour, so try using just a bit less. If the recipe looks too wet, just add more of the rice flour.
There are also gluten free flour blends available in most supermarkets that will be suitable for use as almond flour substitutes.
